Chris Armstrong has worked for almost every outdoor publication at one time or another. A graduate of Ringling School of Art, his first job was as an illustrator for Hallmark Cards. Then came a series of newspaper illustrator jobs doing everything from feature art, spot illustration, editorial cartoonist and comic strips. In 1986 he created Smackwater Studio, Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida and has been the illustrator of magazines, books publishers, advertising agencies as well as producing large murals for the State of Florida. In his 35 years of working as an illustrator there isn't much he hasn't done. From the art of birds, fish and animals to the oddball Styles and subject matter.

" Chris Armstrong is one of the greatest talents on today's outdoor art scene. His works are beautiful and finely detailed to portray fish and wildlife the way they really are. As an avid sportsman, Chris fosters a real passion for fishing and hunting, and this passion is vividly portrayed in his art. I believe Chris' works will prove to be a great investment to pass on to sportsmen of future generations." Wade Bourne
